GREEN LION An exotic image for a book made in Lorraine, this figure occurs several times in the Bar books as a magnificent decorative element. The colouring emphasizes the fantasy of such a beast in a Lorraine context. The Breviary text on this folio is Vespers for the Office of a Virgin. (Verdun, bilb. mun.
